Kombucha is an ancient, traditional, medicinal, living beverage and Buchi honors how special that is by by flavoring with certified organic, wholefood ingredients – whole fruit juices, juice concentrates, purees and herbal and botanical extracts. Some of our favorite ingredients include tulsi basil, chamomile, schisandra berry (grown by the only commercial organic schisandra berry farm in the US), cane sugar (grown by the largest sustainable agricultural project in the world), and tea (which is certified fair trade and regeneratively grown).

Our Environmental Purchasing Policy vets and validates the suppliers we work with – ensuring that we give preference to those that meet robust third-party social and environmental criteria, including the following: Certified B Corporation, Certified Organic, LEED Certified, Energy Star Certified, and Fair Trade Certified. Preference is also given to independent, woman, and minority-owned suppliers, as well as those located within 150 miles of our brewery – when price and quality are equal.

We are a public benefit corporation which means that we’ve committed to creating public benefit and sustained value in the way that we do business – from our customers, to our team, all the way to the farmers growing our ingredients. This, plus Buchi’s vision to use our buying power as a means to create positive impact, has a heavy influence on our sourcing – setting the highest of standards for our suppliers and for us. We take brewing fermented drinks seriously – Because our bodies, and our community deserve the best in quality, flavor and sustainability!
